Nail design

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The term nail design covers the cosmetic modification of human nails . It only includes manicure and pedicure to a limited extent , but focuses primarily on shaping the nails with nail polish , gel , acrylic or foils . The artistic design of the nails is also called nail art (English for "nail art").

job profile

In Germany, nail design activities are assigned to the job description of the " beautician " ( Crafts Code, Annex B No. 48) and also part of this training occupation . In addition, there is the “nail designer” as a further education according to the craft regulations (HwO). The regulation of the further training examination is carried out by the chambers of crafts .

In Austria, the "modeling of fingernails (nail salon)" is a part of the trade (according to the 1st Partial Trade Ordinance) that comes from the trade of beauticians (beauty care workers). Prerequisites for exercising this are a final examination in the apprenticeship beautician or in a related apprenticeship and a professional activity of at least one year.

Professional body

In the opinion of the Administrative Court of Baden-Württemberg , nail design represents a specialization in a small section of the field of activity of a beautician, which in the case of a nail salon is not carried out in a manner similar to a craft. This does not justify membership of the Chamber of Crafts.
