Arnaud Vincent (born November 30, 1974 in Nancy ) is a French motorcycle racer .

Career

Vincent started his career in motocross . Between 1994 and 1995 he won the French 125- cc -Straßenmeisterschaft.

In the 1996 season , Arnaud Vincent competed in Aprilia as a wildcard driver at the French Grand Prix, his first race in the 125 cc class of the motorcycle world championship . The following year Vincent won the 125cc European Championship .

For the 1998 season Vincent switched to the World Championship as a regular driver and drove on Aprilia and later on Honda , this year he achieved twelfth place overall. In the 1999 season he celebrated his first victory at the Grand Prix of Catalonia in Barcelona . In this and the following year the Frenchman reached seventh place in the World Cup. For the 2001 season he moved again to Honda, but did not get beyond tenth place overall.

The 2002 season Arnaud Vincent played again on Aprilia and dominated the competition. With five wins and a total of ten podium positions in 16 races, he was world champion in the 125 cc class with 273 points and 19 points ahead of Manuel Poggiali from San Marino .

In the following year Vincent switched to the newcomer KTM , but after he couldn't get on with the motorcycle and could not achieve the expected results, he left the Austrian team during the season and started again on Aprilia. In the overall ranking he only finished 18th.

For the 2004 season, Arnaud Vincent switched to the 250 cc class and continued to compete on Aprilia, reaching 21st place in the World Championship. For the 2005 season he signed with the Italian newcomer Fantic . With the defeated motorcycle, however, he never managed to achieve the points. In 2006 he started on a Honda in the Arie Molenaar Racing team and was 22nd overall.

In the 2007 season , Arnaud Vincent wanted to take part in the Supersport World Championship with a Yamaha R6 from the Millet Yamaha Racing team , but could not raise the necessary money. He eventually contested the French Supersport Championship with the Yam Service Blagnac Compétition team .
