European motorcycle championship 1928
The titles of the European Motorcycle Championship in 1928 were awarded at the FICM V Grand Prix , which was held on July 28 and 29, 1928 in Geneva ( Switzerland ) as part of the Swiss V Grand Prix on the Circuit de Meyrin .
The European Grand Prix took place for the first time as part of the Swiss Grand Prix . Since this Grand Prix traditionally also held races for teams , the FICM also awarded European titles in these classes for the first time.
Race courses
In the 125 cm³ class, which was held for the first time, local Paul Lehmann on Moser won ahead of his compatriot and brand colleague Brehm. Third was the up-and-coming, 23-year-old Italian Omobono Tenni .
In the 175s there was an Italian double victory by Alfredo Panella ( Ladetto-Blatto ) and Riccardo Brusi ( Benelli ).
In the quarter liter class defending Briton Cecil Ashby on OK-Supreme 's in the last year in Germany gained title.
In the 350s, the 26-year-old Brit Wal Handley won on the Swiss made Motosacoche ahead of Jimmie Guthrie on Norton and the local Bruno Martinelli , also on Motosacoche.
