Friedrich Wilhelm Heidenreich

Friedrich Wilhelm Heidenreich (born September 2, 1798 in Roßtal ; † December 6, 1857 in Ansbach ) was a German physician and naturalist who wrote scientific and medical writings.

Life

Friedrich Wilhelm Heidenreich was the son of the deacon of Roßtal and later pastor of Ermetzhofen Johann Alexander Heidenreich (1754–1814). His sister Henriette was married to the classical philologist and archaeologist Joseph Anselm Feuerbach . Friedrich Wilhelm was friends with Anselm's brother, the philosopher Ludwig Feuerbach , and both of them had a traditional correspondence. Heidenreich was involved in the investigation of the death of the foundling Kaspar Hauser . In the natural sciences, Heidenreich adhered to a strictly empirical view.
