Ermetzhofen is a district of the municipality Ergersheim in the district of Neustadt an der Aisch-Bad Windsheim in Middle Franconia in Bavaria .

location

The parish village is located on the Sauerbrunnenquelle and the Weidenbrunnenquelle. Here is the origin of the Rannach, which flows through the village in the valley. In the east lies Ergersheim and in the west Custenlohr, in the north Neuherberg and in the south Mörlbach.

history

Ermetzhofen was mentioned for the first time in 1288, it was founded from Ergersheim. In Ermetzhofen there is the Markgrafenkirche located in the former cemetery, rebuilt in 1752.

On January 1, 1974, the municipality of Ermetzhofen was incorporated into the neighboring municipality of Ergersheim.

traffic

The district road NEA 31 leads north to a junction of the federal road 13 near Neuherberg and south to Mörlbach . A community road also leads east to the B 13 near Obermühle , another leads south-east to Bergtshofen .

For station Steinach (in Rothenburg ob der Tauber) is about 10 km, the train station in Uffenheim about 8 km.

Ermetzhofen can only be reached very sparingly with the VGN buses . There is no regular service, the bus service is based on the school buses.

Sons and daughters of the village

Henriette Feuerbach , b. Heydenreich, on August 13, 1812 in Ermetzhofen as the daughter of the pastor Johann Alexander Heydenreich and his wife Christina Friederika geb. Freudel born, died on August 5, 1892 in Ansbach, was the stepmother, agent and sponsor of the painter Anselm Feuerbach , one of the most important German painters of the second half of the 19th century.
