history
The place was first mentioned in 1160 as "Mürselbach", in 1231 as "Morelbach". There was also a noble family of the same name that resided in the village. Remains of the ramparts can be seen in the garden of property no. 11 (old census).
The monastery Heilsbronn received late 13th century by knights and chef Hübschmann goods and gradient among others Mörlbach. In the following years the monastery acquired other goods and slopes.
The St. Laurentius Church was founded as a branch of St. Maria (Steinach an der Ens) . In 1464/65 it was raised to an independent parish. Since 1621 at the latest, there has been a school in the village that has existed until the 1960s.
In 1806 Mörlbach came to the new Kingdom of Bavaria . As part of the municipal edict , the Mörlbach tax district was formed in 1808 , to which Habermühle , Hinterpfeinach and Vorderpfeinach belonged. In 1813 the rural community Mörlbach was formed, which was congruent with the tax district. With the second community edict (1818), the rural community was dissolved into:
- Rural community Mörlbach with Habermühle;
- Hinter- and Vorderpfeinach to the newly formed rural community Custenlohr .
The rural community of Mörlbach was under the administration and jurisdiction of the Uffenheim Regional Court and the Uffenheim Rent Office ( renamed the Uffenheim Tax Office in 1920 ). From 1862 Mörlbach was administered by the Uffenheim district office (renamed the Uffenheim district in 1938 ). The jurisdiction remained until 1879 the District Court Uffenheim, 1880 at the District Court Uffenheim . The municipality had an area of 5,460 km².
On May 1, 1978, the place was incorporated into Gallmersgarten as part of the regional reform .
