The district of Uffenheim belonged to the Bavarian administrative district of Middle Franconia . Before the start of the Bavarian regional reform in the early 1970s, the district comprised 73 communities.

In 1972 the district bordered in a clockwise direction in the northwest with the districts of Ochsenfurt , Kitzingen , Scheinfeld , Neustadt an der Aisch , Ansbach and Rothenburg ob der Tauber (all in Bavaria) and the district of Mergentheim (in Baden-Württemberg ).
history
District Office
The district office of Uffenheim was formed in the Kingdom of Bavaria in 1862 through the merger of the district courts of the older order Uffenheim and Windsheim .
On the occasion of the reform of the layout of the Bavarian district offices, the district office of Uffenheim received municipalities from the district office of Ansbach on January 1, 1880 . The Preuntsfelden community was assigned to the Rothenburg ob der Tauber district office .
On July 1, 1932, the district office was expanded to include the communities Bullenheim and Gnötzheim of the Kitzingen district office.

On January 1, 1939, the uniform imperial designation Landkreis was introduced. So the district office of Uffenheim became from the district office.
On July 1, 1971, the district gave the municipality of Buch to the district of Neustadt an der Aisch. Buch was incorporated into the Trautskirchen community .
On July 1, 1972, the district of Uffenheim was dissolved as part of the regional reform in Bavaria and most of its area was added to the district of Neustadt an der Aisch . The communities Bullenheim, Gnötzheim and Unterickelsheim were added to the district of Kitzingen and thus transferred to Lower Franconia. On May 1, 1973, the district of Neustadt an der Aisch was given the current name of the district of Neustadt an der Aisch-Bad Windsheim .
On January 1, 1978 the community Bullenheim was reclassified from the district of Kitzingen to the district of Neustadt an der Aisch-Bad Windsheim and incorporated into Ippesheim .

License Plate
On July 1, 1956, the district was assigned the UFF distinguishing mark when the vehicle registration number that is still valid today was introduced . It was issued until August 3, 1974. Since July 10, 2013, it has been available again in the Neustadt an der Aisch-Bad Windsheim district due to the license plate liberalization .
