The district of Landau an der Isar , officially: District of Landau adIsar , was a district in Bavaria and belonged to the administrative district of Lower Bavaria . Its former area is now almost completely in the district of Dingolfing-Landau .

history

district Court

1803 was in the course of administrative restructuring of Bavaria , the District Court Landau an der Isar built. After the establishment of the Kingdom of Bavaria, this was added to the Lower Danube District, whose capital was Passau.

In 1838 the Lower Danube District was renamed the District of Lower Bavaria, from which the administrative district of the same name emerged . The district capital was moved to Landshut. In the course of this administrative reform, the Landau an der Isar regional court had to cede parts of its territory to the newly established Dingolfing and Osterhofen regional courts .

District Office

The district office in 1862, Landau an der Isar followed the district court order of older Landau an der Isar, ceded the eight municipalities of the district office Eggenfelden.

On January 1, 1939, the uniform designation Landkreis was introduced in the German Reich . So the district office became the Landau an der Isar district.

On July 1, 1972, the Landau an der Isar district was dissolved by the regional reform. The community of Lailling came to the district of Deggendorf, while all other communities were combined with the district of Dingolfing, which was also dissolved, to form the new district of Untere Isar . In addition, there were communities in the dissolved districts of Vilsbiburg and Mallersdorf . On May 1, 1973, the new district was given today's name Landkreis Dingolfing-Landau .

politics

In 1945, the former member of the state parliament and publisher Konrad Kübler was appointed district administrator of Landau by the American military government , who was confirmed in office by the elected district council in 1946 and 1948. However, the district elections of 1948 were declared invalid and had to be repeated. In 1950 the new district council elected Pastor Alfons Gabler as district administrator. Two years later, Adolf Daßler, a district administrator, was elected directly by the people. Adolf Daßler had already been a state district administrator from 1938 to 1945 at the time of National Socialism . In 1964, the doctor Franz Winklhofer was elected to the Landau district administrator, who held this office until the regional reform in 1972.

Communities

Before the start of the regional reform, the Landau an der Isar district comprised 31 communities in the 1960s:

On January 1, 1946, the Harburg community was incorporated into Waibling and the Poldering community was incorporated into Zeholfing.

License Plate

On July 1, 1956, the district was assigned the distinguishing sign LAN when the license plates that are still valid today were introduced . It was issued until April 28, 1973. Since March 1, 2017, it has been available again in the Dingolfing-Landau district due to the license plate liberalization .
