location

The church village Waibling is located about two kilometers northwest of Pilsting on the edge of the Isar valley .

history

The 1985/1986 discovery of one of the largest Bavarian row grave fields in the village of Peigen, which formerly belonged to the Waibling community, provides information about the old settlement of the area.

In a traditional note from the Regensburg St. Emmeram monastery between 889 and 891, goods were exchanged for "Nad Uueipilinguni". Thus a settlement with the people of the Weipilo is tangible here. In the 12th century the monastery of Oberalteich appears as the manor and in the 14th century the nobles of Eschlbach were resident.

Waibling formed a chairman in the office of Pilsting, named in 1669, of the Teisbach district court . In 1752 the village of Waibling consisted of 23 properties. The community of Waibling, established at the beginning of the 19th century, was a rural community with predominantly agricultural operations. It was enlarged in 1946 by the dissolved Harburg municipality and encompassed almost the entire current district of Pilsting. From May 1, 1948 to December 31, 1971, Adolf Kellner was mayor of Waibling. In 1961 Waibling was awarded the gold medal in the nationwide competition Our village should be more beautiful . As part of the regional reform , the municipality of Waibling was integrated into the new larger municipality of Pilsting on January 1, 1972.
