The Rhône is a paddle wheel steamer on Lake Geneva built in 1927 by the Sulzer brothers in Winterthur . The ship has a hydraulically controlled steam engine with automatic pressure lubrication. With a length of 68 meters and a width of 14.3 meters, it currently has a capacity of 850 people. The ship, which is named after the Rhone River , was converted from coal-fired boiler to oil-fired in 1959 and 1960. It was last extensively overhauled in 1968 and 1969.

It is the third ship on Lake Geneva to be named "Rhône".

The steamer is one of eight paddle steamers from the Compagnie Générale de Navigation sur le Lac Léman (CGN), which received the Europa Nostra Prize of the European Union for European cultural heritage in 2014 for exemplary preservation of the Belle Époque steamship fleet . These eight paddle steamers still have a significant impact on passenger shipping on the entire Lake Geneva area.
