Kammern is a district of the city of Landau an der Isar . Until 1972 it formed an independent municipality.

location

Kammern is located about four kilometers east of Landau in the Isar-Inn hill country .

history

Already in 1247 a pastor named Uogilo von Kammern was mentioned as a witness at the Aldersbach monastery , which proves the old age of the parish Kammern. In the 13th century, the Bishop of Passau gave the Waller family fiefs in Chambarn . Chambers formed a quarter in the Vilstal in the Wentzl office of the Landau district court.

The municipality of Kammern emerged from the tax districts of Lappersdorf and Wisselsdorf in 1818 and belonged to the Landau district court and district office, and later to the Landau an der Isar district . In 1945/1946 it was enlarged by part of the dissolved municipality of Poldering. On July 1, 1972, as part of the regional reform , the municipality was partly integrated with the district of Kammern into the municipality of Landau an der Isar, and partly into the Eichendorf market.
