history

Numerous finds from the Stone Age and the Bronze Age suggest that the local corridor was settled for thousands of years. In the year 15 BC The area was conquered by the Romans and the church patronage of St. Laurentius , who was a Roman archdeacon, suggests that the church in Haidlfing was still under the influence of the Romans.

After the retreat of the Romans towards the end of the 5th century, immigrant peoples settled in from the east who, together with the remaining population, formed the tribe of the Bavarians. For example, “Ze Haidolfingen” (= near Haidolf and his people) was probably created around the middle of the 6th century at the rissinger brook. The name ending "-ing" suggests the oldest settlements in Old Bavaria. The nobles from Haidlfing can be traced back to the 13th century.

The fortunes of Haidlfing have been closely linked to Niederaltaich Monastery from the earliest times . The first documentary mention in 749 is related to the deeds of donation and ownership of the monastery. Haidlfing gained special importance as the "Ambt" of Niederaltaich Monastery, because the so-called Ammer had to collect the taxes of the subjects for the monastery. Until the secularization of 1803 , the monastery held the manor over numerous courtyards .

In 1148 the already existing parish of Haidlfing was incorporated into the Niederaltaich monastery, which gave the monastery the right to occupy the Haidlfing pastoral position and its income. The political communities in Bavaria were formed in 1818, and Haidlfing has since formed its own community, which, in addition to the main town, also belonged to See.

Teachers can be identified in Haidlfing since the time of the Thirty Years' War. In 1892 a new school building was built. In 1969 it was integrated into the Wallersdorf elementary school, the last elementary school classes were taught in 1977, and in 1982 the old schoolhouse fell victim to the pickaxe.

During the regional reform , the municipality of Haidlfing was incorporated into the Wallersdorf market on January 1, 1972. The first documentary mention in the year 749 took the village population in 1999 as an opportunity to celebrate the 1250th anniversary with numerous events and a six-day festival. The highlight of the local anniversary was a historical pageant with around 500 participants through the village, which presented the history of Haidlfing in a vivid way. Today Haidlfing has around 1300 inhabitants.
