Niederhöcking is a parish village in the Lower Bavarian district of Dingolfing-Landau . The place is located in the valley of the Isar , about three kilometers southwest of the city of Landau an der Isar , whose district Niederhöcking has been since 1978. About 230 people live in the village.

history

A first church in Heikkinga is mentioned as early as the end of the 9th century. Niederhöcking has belonged to the Diocese of Regensburg as an original parish since early times , while the neighboring parish of Landau an der Isar is part of the Diocese of Passau . The archaeologists found evidence from all epochs of Niederhöckingen church history in the course of the most recent construction work. They unearthed numerous graves from nine hundred years ago, foundations and finally even ceramics from around 1000.

During the time of the Duchy of Bavaria Niederhöcking formed a chairman . The political community Niederhöcking was created in 1818 after the second community edict from the tax district Höcking. In 1823 the municipality of Oberhöcking with the districts of Oberhöcking, Weilnbach, Windschnur and Wolfsgasse was separated. The part of the dissolved community of Harburg with the parish of Zulling located on the right of the Isar was incorporated in 1946 (the rest of the community of Harburg came to Pilsting ). The new municipality boundary was the right bank of the Isar. Not the entire municipality of Niederhöcking merged into the new municipality of Höcking: Benkhausen came to Mamming , Zanklau (already in advance) to Landau .

As part of the municipal reform in Bavaria, Niederhöcking and the neighboring village of Oberhöcking were merged on January 1, 1971 to form the new municipality of Höcking . On January 1, 1978, Höcking was incorporated into the city of Landau an der Isar. In August 2012 Niederhöcking celebrated the completion of the village renewal after ten years.

Parish church Niederhöcking (St. Martin).

It dates from the first half of the 15th century. After the nave, built in 1855, was demolished, a new nave and parsonage was consecrated on November 15, 1998 by the Regensburg diocesan bishop Manfred Müller . In the center of the high altar wall is a depiction of the Merciful Jesus. The painting is surrounded by seven cross-shaped reliefs, which show the works of physical mercy. Pastor Friedrich Teetz's theological program was realized by the parish artists Josef Mayer (drafts) and Josef Paleczek (execution). The latter also created the altar, ambo, Easter candlesticks, sediles, the Fatima Madonna, St. Martin and the Marienbrunnen. The two side windows of the chancel and the light rosette with the representation of the Holy Trinity are by Josef Wenleder from Oberhöcking. Baroque images of the apostles, choir arch crucifix and mission cross were taken from the previous church. The Way of the Cross from 1856 was salvaged from the parish church and put back in place. The four cross-shaped glass windows from the old nave on the west side depict the patron saint, St. George, St. Notburga and St. Theresa of the Child Jesus. After the restoration, the high altar from 1870 found its place in the side chapel, the former presbytery. The baptismal font from the 14th century is also located here as the oldest inventory item in the parish church.
