Like Usterling, Zulling is a district of Landau an der Isar , but outside the city it is a small village on a ridge. Zulling belongs to the parish Höcking in the diocese of Regensburg. It lies to the right of the Isar and has around 80 residents in 12 houses and farms. At his feet is the Landau barrage with around 600 hectares of water, surrounded by an idyllic hiking and cycling path that is also a through cycle path and leads from Munich via Passau to Vienna ( Isar cycle path ).

history

After the powerful, highly free noble family of the Lords of Zulling-Ellenbrechtskirchen with Count Pabo died out around 1220, the possessions fell to the Passau Cathedral and to Bavarian dukes, whereby the Wittelsbachers were able to influence the lower Isar for the first time. The former rulership was quickly expanded under Duke Ludwig dem Kelheimer and the city of Landau an der Isar was founded in 1224. Landau soon received its own office with jurisdiction and administration.
