District Office

The district office of Brückenau followed in 1862 the area court of the older order of Brückenau .

On January 1, 1939, the uniform imperial designation Landkreis was introduced. The district office became the Brückenau district.

On April 8, 1970, the district of Brückenau was officially renamed the Bad Brückenau district.

On July 1, 1972, the district of Bad Brückenau in the course of which was administrative reform in Bavaria together with the district Hammelburg , until then independent town of Bad Kissingen , and individual communities of the districts Gemünden am Main and Karlstad the district of Bad Kissingen slammed shut.

On 1 July 1956 the county in introducing the still valid today was license plate the distinguishing sign BRK assigned. It was issued until April 28, 1973. Since July 10, 2013 it has been available again in the Bad Kissingen district.
