history

The first known mention of Singenrain comes from the year 1356. The place name could be derived from a first settler named Sinicho or from the fact that the place was created through (fire) clearing.

In 1439, Carl von Thüngen sold Singenrain by swap to the Thulba Monastery until the town was bought back by the Lords of Thüngen in 1575 . In 1618 the place came into the possession of the Lords of Erthal , and in 1660 it came back to the Thulba monastery.

On June 4, 1950, the local Church of St. Mary of Fatima was consecrated. On May 1, 1978 Singenrain became a district of Schondra as part of the municipal reform.
