history

District Office

The district office of Ebern was formed in the Kingdom of Bavaria in 1862 through the merger of the regional courts of the older order of Baunach and Ebern .

On October 3, 1866, communities moved from the Königshofen district office in Grabfeld to the Ebern district office.

district

On January 1, 1939, the uniform imperial designation Landkreis was introduced. This is how the district office became the district of Ebern.

The district of Ebern with the administrative center Ebern was dissolved as part of the regional reform on July 1, 1972 and most of the district was added to the Haßberg district . From the southern part of the district, the municipalities of Baunach , Deusdorf, Dorgendorf, Gerach , Höfen , Lauter , Mürsbach , Priegendorf, Reckendorf and Reckenneusig were incorporated into the Bamberg district and thus Upper Franconia . The community Heilgersdorf was assigned to the district of Coburg , also in Upper Franconia.

The Haßberg district was renamed the Haßberge district on May 1, 1973 .
