history

The place was probably built before the 9th century. The first mention was in 1232 in the certificate of division of the Würzburg prince-bishop Hermann , in which Ebern was separated from the parish Pfarrweisach and "Lare" remained with the mother church. In 1376 Heinz Fuchs von Breitbach received an estate at "Lare", which Eberhard Fuchs owned in 1400. This farm always belonged to the Fuchs zu Burgpreppach , all other properties to the Würzburg monastery . In 1587 an episcopal commission successfully carried out the Counter Reformation in Lohr, among others .

In 1862 the rural community Lohr, consisting of the church village Lohr and the village Römmelsdorf , was incorporated into the newly created Bavarian district office Ebern . The 693.32 hectare parish had 211 residents in 1871, 162 of whom were Catholic, and 45 residential buildings. The 163 inhabitants of the church village belonged to the district of the Catholic parish Pfarrweisach, 3 kilometers away. The Catholic denominational school was in the place. In 1900 the Lohr had 153 inhabitants and 30 residential buildings. The place belonged to the district of the Protestant parish in Burgpreppach, 4 kilometers away. In 1925, 139 people, the majority of whom were Catholic, lived in 25 residential buildings in Lohr.

In 1950 Lohr had 190 residents and 28 residential buildings. In 1961 the place had 160 residents and 30 residential buildings. In 1970 there were 150 and in 1987 113 inhabitants and 29 residential buildings with 32 apartments.

On July 1, 1972, the district of Ebern was dissolved as part of the regional reform and Lohr became part of the Haßberg district. On May 1, 1978, it was incorporated into the parish of Pfarrweisach.
