history

The place on the old Würzburg escort road Bamberg - Königshofen was probably built between the end of the 8th and the 9th century. The first mention was in 1232 in the certificate of partition of the Würzburg bishop Hermann , in which Ebern was separated from the parish Pfarrweisach and among other things "Junkerstorff" remained with the mother church. 1387 received Ulrich and tungsten stone a third of a decade to "Gunckhersdorf located under the Old Stone". In 1554 the von Stein family owned most of the village, which the von Rotenhan acquired in 1607/22 . In the course of the Thirty Years War , the number of Junkersdorfer decreased to five Rotenhan subjects in 1644. The attempt to forcibly return the Protestant residents to the Catholic Church on October 1, 1629 was unsuccessful.

In 1862, the rural community of Junkersdorf , which had been independent since 1818, was incorporated into the newly created Bavarian district office of Ebern . The rural community consisted of the church village and the wasteland of Hauckenmühle, 2.0 kilometers away. In 1871 it had 208 inhabitants, 205 of whom were Protestants, and 39 residential buildings. Junkersdorf belonged to the district of the Evangelical parish of Altenstein, 2.5 kilometers away . An evangelical denominational school had been in the village since 1815.

In 1897 Junkersdorf was connected to the rail network with the Breitengüßbach – Maroldsweisach railway. In 1900 the 247.73 hectare community had 188 residents and 34 residential buildings. In 1925, 182 people, 6 of whom were Catholic, lived in 34 residential buildings in Junkersdorf. The place belonged to the district of the Catholic parish in Pfarrweisach.

In 1950 the community had 280 residents and 36 residential buildings. In 1961 Junkersdorf had 235 residents and 42 residential buildings. In 1970 there were 235 and 1987 268 inhabitants and 66 residential buildings with 83 apartments. On July 1, 1972, the district of Ebern was dissolved and Junkersdorf became part of the Haßberg district. On January 1, 1978, it was incorporated into the parish of Pfarrweisach.

On May 27, 1988, passenger traffic was stopped on the railway line between Ebern and Maroldsweisach. Freight traffic was carried out until November 21, 2001. In 2003 the tracks were closed and dismantled.
