Location of Eyrichshof in Bavaria

Eyrichshof is a district of Ebern in the Lower Franconian district of Haßberge .

history

The place name probably goes back to the personal name of the place founder "Iring". The basic word -dorf indicates that the place was at times a desert or that it developed back from a village to a farm in the late Middle Ages due to a decline in the number of inhabitants. The first mention was in 1232 in the certificate of division of the Würzburg prince-bishop Hermann , in which Ebern was separated from the parish Pfarrweisach and "Iringsdorf" came to Ebern. By 1676 at the latest, the village of "Eyringshoff" was owned by the von Rotenhan . Eyrichshof was incorporated into the town of Ebern on July 1, 1971. In 1987 the church village had 17 residents.

Economy and Infrastructure

traffic

The city center of Ebern can be reached in a few minutes by car. In addition, the buses on the Haßfurt – Ebern – Maroldsweisach and Bamberg – Ebern – Maroldsweisach lines stop in Eyrichshof.

From October 26, 1897 to May 27, 1988 you could also get to Eyrichshof on the Breitengüßbach – Maroldsweisach railway line , now instead of the railway tracks there is a cycle path that leads from Fischbach via Eyrichshof to Ebern.

education

In Eyrichshof there was once a primary school that was converted into a garrison museum. The children attend schools in Ebern.

Others

A garden festival has been taking place annually in Schloss Eyrichshof for a number of years, and the ADAC Club organizes a classic car meeting there around Whitsun.

Attractions

The Eyrichshof Castle is located about one kilometer north of the center of boars in the district of Haßberge in Unterfranken. The former moated castle has been in the possession of the Barons von Rotenhan since the 14th century and is still inhabited by the owners.

The Rotenhan castle ruins come from one of the few real rock castles in Germany. Since the complex was destroyed in the 14th century, only small remains of the rising masonry can be seen.
