In 1925 there were 53 people in 7 residential buildings.

In 1950 the hamlet had 69 residents and 8 residential buildings. In 1961, Sandhof, now referred to as a village, had 91 residents and 14 residential buildings. It still belonged to the Catholic parish in Ebern and the Protestant parish in Eyrichshof. In 1970 there were 119 and in 1987 135 inhabitants and 24 residential buildings with 47 apartments.
