Frickendorf is a part of the municipality of the Lower Franconian town of Ebern in the Haßberge district .

geography

The village is located in the eastern part of the district in the Baunachgrund. A baroque bridge from the 18th century spans the Baunach in Frickendorf and connects the place with Fischbach .

history

The place name probably goes back to the personal name "Friko" or "Fricko". The place was first mentioned in a document in 1231, when Hermann I von Lobdeburg , Bishop of Würzburg, returned goods in "Vrichendorf" as a fief to Hermann von Raueneck. The next mention followed in 1232 in the certificate of division of the Würzburg bishop, in which Ebern was separated from the parish Pfarrweisach and, among other things, remained “frickendorf” with the mother church.

The mill in "Frikendorf" was first mentioned in 1303/1313. At that time, the Lords of Lichtenstein received half a tithe and three Hufen as fiefdoms and Johannes Flieger received two goods as fiefdoms. In 1433 the Lords of Rotenhan were first mentioned as village lords. Most of the subjects of the hereditary village belonged to the Würzburg monastery . In 1830 Frickendorf had 111 inhabitants, 101 of whom were Catholic.

Around 1845 there were two farms in the village. In 1862, the rural community of Brno with the town of Frickendorf was incorporated into the newly created Bavarian district office of Ebern . The village had 97 inhabitants in 1871. It belonged to the Catholic parish in Pfarrweisach, 3.5 kilometers away, and to the Protestant parish in Eyrichshof, 4.5 kilometers away . A Catholic denominational school was located in Kraisdorf , 2.0 kilometers away , and the Protestant one in Brno, 2.0 kilometers away. In 1900 the 600.27 hectare rural community of Brno with its two towns had 261 inhabitants, 101 of whom were Catholic. In Frickendorf 103 people lived in 20 residential buildings. In 1925 there were 119 people in 19 residential buildings.

In 1950 the village had 159 residents and 21 residential buildings. It still belonged to the Catholic parish in Pfarrweisach and the Protestant parish in Eyrichshof. In 1961 Frickendorf had 126 residents and 22 residential buildings. In 1970 there were 123 and in 1987 120 inhabitants and 30 residential buildings with 33 apartments.

On July 1, 1972, Brno and Frickendorf were incorporated into Ebern. At the same time, as part of the regional reform , the places came from the dissolved Ebern district to the new Haßberg district.
