geography

The church village is located in the eastern part of the district on the eastern edge of the Haßwald in a valley through which the Seebach, which flows into the Hinterbach, flows through. The district roads HAS 51 Unterpreppach to Heubach lead through the village.

history

The place name possibly goes back to the personal name "Hruodalah" or "Ruodlah". Reutersbrunn was probably originally a Franconian settlement from the 11th century.

The first documentary mention was in 1232 in the certificate of division of the Würzburg bishop Hermann , in which Ebern was separated from the parish Pfarrweisach and among other things "Rentsprunnen" came to the parish Ebern. 1301/1313 Friedrich Köselin two parts was the decade in "Ratersbrunn". In 1509 the Lords of Rotenhan had the whole tithe at "Rittersbrunn". Around 1576, the community of Ebern , which was part of the Würzburg monastery , became the lord of the village and landed it.

In 1828 Reutersbrunn was incorporated into the rural community and in 1862 into the newly created Bavarian District Office Ebern . In 1871 the parish had 138 inhabitants, all of whom were Catholic, and 30 residential buildings. It belonged to the Catholic parish in Unterpreppach, 3.0 kilometers away. A Catholic denominational school was located there. In 1900 the 220 hectare community had 153 inhabitants and 28 residential buildings, and in 1925 158 people, 151 of whom were Catholic, lived in Reutersbrunn in 26 residential buildings. A water pipe was built in 1896 and it was connected to the power grid in 1922.

In 1950 the church village had 155 residents and 26 residential buildings. It belonged to the Catholic parish in Unterpreppach and the Protestant one in Rentweinsdorf . In 1961 Reutersbrunn had 135 residents and 28 residential buildings. In 1970 there were 144 and in 1987 157 inhabitants and 35 residential buildings with 37 apartments.

On January 1, 1972, Reutersbrunn was incorporated into Ebern . On July 1, 1972, the district of Ebern was dissolved as part of the regional reform and Reutersbrunn came with Ebern to the Haßberg district.

The two-story school building, newly built in 1889, was rebuilt and expanded in 1963. Until 1968 it housed the one-class Catholic denominational school. It was later used by a kindergarten and since 2007 it has served as a village community center.

Catholic branch church St. Georg

The Catholic branch church St. Georg goes back to a chapel built around 1450 and destroyed in the Peasants' War in 1525. In the second half of the 17th century, around 1680, today's church was built, which was expanded by four meters to the east in 1950 and provided with a tower. It is a hall building with a flank tower that has a pyramid roof. The facade is adorned with sandstone components. The simple rococo work inside the church was made in the middle of the 18th century.

A total of four architectural monuments in Reutersbrunn are listed in the Bavarian list of monuments.

West of Reuters Brunn is located in Haßwald the "Hollow Stone", a larger, 70 × 25 meter measuring rock group from Rhätsandsteinblöcken with up to 10 meters tall.
