Ensemble old town Ebern with suburbs
The 1216 first documented settlement ( location ) received in 1335 by Ludwig of Bavaria , the city charter . As a result, the city developed with an almost square plan, surrounded by the fortifications of the 14th – 17th centuries, which have been largely preserved. Century. It is cut in a north-south direction by the former trade route Nuremberg- Thuringia, which expands into the market square in terms of the street. The parish church in the northeast and the stately town hall in the southwest highlight the market square as the center. The development within the walls dates largely from the time after the city fire in 1430. Suburbs are connected on three sides: In the north, the Spitalvorstadt, which extends along Kapellenstrasse and Ritter-von-Schmitt-Strasse as a long curve that touches the city center as a result of the hospital founded in 1352. There arable mansions predominantly dominate the appearance with facade designs from the 19th century. In the south of Klein Nürnberg, where travelers and merchants found hostels, horse stables and stacks for goods outside the city fortifications. To the west, the Sandhofer suburb with its craft businesses on Mühlbach and Neubrückentorstrasse. The town, which is slightly elevated on the eastern slope of the Baunach, has an effective town silhouette with the characteristic buildings of the parish church, the former Schüttboden and the Grautor. Boundary: Walk-Strasser-Anlage - east border of the property Klein Nürnberg 1-11 - west border of the property Klein Nürnberg 14-6 - Hirtengasse to No. 20 - south and west boundaries of the properties south of Untergasse to Mühlgrabenweg 1 - Neubrückentorstraße - 14- 2 (northern boundary of the property) - Ritter-von-Schmitt-Straße 28-2 (northwestern property boundaries) - Kapellenstraße 1-31 (northwestern property boundaries) - Kappelenstraße 34-14 (eastern property boundaries, including Sutte, with connection to Walk-Strasser- Investment). File number: E-6-74-130-1.

Remarks
- ↑ This list may not correspond to the current status of the official list of monuments. The latter can be viewed on the Internet as a PDF using the link given under web links and is also mapped in the Bavarian Monument Atlas . Even these representations, although they are updated daily by the Bavarian State Office for Monument Preservation , do not always and everywhere reflect the current status. Therefore, the presence or absence of an object in this list or in the Bavarian Monument Atlas does not guarantee that it is currently a registered monument or not. The Bavarian List of Monuments is also an information directory. The property of a monument - and thus the legal protection - is defined in Art. 1 of the Bavarian Monument Protection Act (BayDSchG) and does not depend on the mapping in the Monument Atlas and the entry in the Bavarian Monument List. Objects that are not listed in the Bavarian Monument List can also be monuments if they meet the criteria according to Art. 1 BayDSchG. Early involvement of the Bavarian State Office for Monument Preservation according to Art. 6 BayDSchG is therefore necessary in all projects.
