A verifiable first mention can be dated to the year 855. The lords of Schöffstall were local landowners and owners of the local castle from 1349 until they died out in 1544. Reckendorfer Kerwa

The annual parish fair (Kerwa) takes place at the beginning of September. Kerwa Sunday is always the first Sunday in September. On Friday, the Kerwabaam (church fair tree) is traditionally set up on the village square by the Reckendorf local culture ring from 6:00 p.m. From Saturday to Monday there is a festival in the beer tent on the Schloß-Wies'n and in the restaurants, there are also showmen on site. On Monday, the local culture ring organizes a Kerwagaudi with annually changing games such as barrel rolling or hitting the rooster.

Altweibermühle

The Altweibermühle takes place every ten years , a carnival procession that has a tradition going back over a hundred years. Young boys disguised as witches are caught by millers and “turned” by a fountain of youth in the form of a mill. They come out below as young girls and perform a dance with the waiting grooms. On February 6, 2005 and February 15, 2015, around 10,000 visitors saw this spectacle, accompanied by radio and television. The next Altweibermühle for the 120th anniversary will take place in 2025.
