Breitbrunn is a municipality in the Lower Franconian district of Haßberge in Bavaria . She is a member of the Ebelsbach administrative community .

The community is located in the Haßberge Nature Park in the Main-Rhön region (Bavarian planning region 3).

history
Until the church is planted
Breitbrunn was first mentioned in a document in 1112. The local rights of the Bamberg bishopric (St.-Katharinen-Spital) fell to Bavaria in the Reichsdeputationshauptschluss 1803, those of the barons of Guttenberg were mediated in 1806. In 1810 the entire area was ceded to the Grand Duchy of Würzburg by Archduke Ferdinand of Tuscany in the course of border adjustments and returned to Bavaria in 1814 . In the course of the administrative reforms in Bavaria, today's municipality was created with the municipal edict of 1818 .
District affiliation
Until June 30, 1972 Breitbrunn belonged to the disbanded district of Ebern .
Incorporations
On January 1, 1970, the previously independent community of Hermannsberg was incorporated. On January 1, 1978 Lußberg (with Kottendorf) was added.

Mayoress
Ruth Frank (independent) has been the first female mayor since 2020. The predecessor from 2008 to 2020 was Gertrud Bühl (Free Voters). She won the election against the then incumbent Günther Geiling (CSU). In 2014 she was re-elected with approx. 90% of the votes and no opponents.

Blazon : In blue under a golden heraldic rose with silver sepals next to each other, a lowered silver wave point on which a black millstone is placed and a lowered silver point on which a black disc is placed, which is covered with a silver cross.

In 1998, according to official statistics, there were no employees at the place of work in the manufacturing industry 23 or in the trade and transport sector. There were a total of 367 employees at the place of residence subject to social security contributions. There was one company in the manufacturing sector, no companies in the main construction sector. In addition, in 1999 there were 43 farms with an agriculturally used area of 649 hectares, of which 438 hectares were arable land and 210 hectares were permanent green space.

The nearest train station is Ebelsbach - Eltmann on the Bamberg – Würzburg railway line , about five kilometers south of Breitbrunn.
