Wernarz is a district of Bad Brückenau in the Bad Kissingen district in Bavaria .

geography

Wernarz lies on the left bank of the Sinn at 290  m above sea level. NHN State road 2289 leads through the village from Rupboden to Bad Brückenau. The district of Wernarz extends in the southeast to almost the Dreistelzberg (660 m). In the northeast, Wernarz is structurally integrated with the Brückenau public baths . On the opposite side of the Sinn is the Zeitlofs district of Eckarts and behind it runs the state border with Hesse . In Wernarz springing Wernarzer source . A third of the closed village of Wernarz is in the Rupboden district. Until 2016, the Jossa – Wildflecken railway line ran on the outskirts .

history

Wernarz was mentioned in 1454 as the settlement of a man named Wernher. In 1939 the previously independent municipality of Wernarz was incorporated into Brückenau.
