Großköllnbach is a district of the Markt Pilsting in the Lower Bavarian district of Dingolfing-Landau . Until 1978 it formed an independent municipality.
location
The parish village of Großköllnbach is located on the Köllnbach about two kilometers west of Pilsting on the edge of the Isar valley .
history
Rich finds from the early period, including several prehistoric burial mounds, prove that the area was inhabited thousands of years ago. The name Köllnbach then appears for the first time around 790 as Cholinpah in the deeds of ownership of the Niederaltaich monastery . However, some information about Köllnbach could refer to the place Oberköllnbach in the Landshut district . From the 12th century, an Eschwin des Colnbach and a Hoholt de Cholnbach appear as witnesses inprüfungingen documents. In addition to the Köllnbachers, there was also a second noble family resident in Großköllnbach, the Hoholtinger, who can be proven in documents from the 12th to the 17th century. They found their final resting place in the parish church in Pilsting.
Other noble families were the Tachinger, Stinglhammer, the Lords of Moos (trainer and Preysing ), the Mühlhamer, Mengkofer, Pelkover, as well as the von Rüdt and Egger, who stayed here on noble estates. Georg Karl Rüdt, the last of his tribe (died 1762), is buried in the choir of the parish church in Großköllnbach, but a Johann Michael Egger and Maria Ursula von Egger, died 1769, outside the choir.
Großköllnbach formed an office of the Leonsberg district court . This was divided on August 11, 1803 between the Straubing and Landau regional courts . The community Großköllnbach of the Landau Regional Court was established in 1821 from the Patrimonialhofmark Köllnbach. The Franciscan monastery existed from 1920 to 1983. The building was demolished in 2009. Großköllnbach was an ecclesiastical branch of Pilsting for centuries and was only raised to a separate parish in 1923. On May 1, 1978, the community Großköllnbach was added to the Pilsting market.
