history

The ducal fiefdom Arlendorf or Arldorf and Adeldorf was awarded to various vassals over the centuries . In the middle of the 18th century, the extensive estate came to the Counts of Tattenbach zu Baumgarten. After the death of the Bavarian minister Count Joseph Ferdinand von Reinstein-Tattenbach in 1802, the Bavarian treasurer Count Heinrich Christian von Tattenbach inherited the property as a representative of the younger line.

When he died childless on October 3, 1821, he bequeathed Adldorf, including the Graf Arco brewery that had existed there since 1671, to his nephew Maximilian von Arco by will . In 1854 the Arcos got the addition to Valley .

Founded in 1616 Expositur Adldorf in 1921 to parish collected and in 1963 the Pfarrverband integrated oak village.

From 1808 until the regional reform in Bavaria , Adldorf was an independent municipality. On July 1, 1972, it was incorporated into the Eichendorf market. Adldorf had its own train station on the Aufhausen – Kröhstorf railway line opened in 1915 .

Attractions

View to the castle
  • The castle burned down in 1836 and again on December 31, 1906. It was given its current form during the reconstruction in 1907. It is still owned by the Arco family today, as is the Arco Valley brewery. Only a corner tower from 1602 is left on older components. There is also a private park on the castle grounds, the planning of which was influenced by Count Otto von Arco auf Valley in his work as a botanist.
  • Immediately next to the castle is the Maria Immaculate Conception parish church, built in 1736/37 by Johann Georg Hirschstötter . The three-axis hall church has a Nepomuk chapel on the north side with oratories and grave monuments from the 15th to 18th centuries. From there an arcade leads to the castle. The interior of the church contains early Rococo stucco as well as altars and a pulpit made of stucco marble.
