Urfersheim is a district of the community of Illesheim in the district of Neustadt an der Aisch-Bad Windsheim in Middle Franconia.

Geographical location

The parish village is located in Windsheim Bay in an almost tree-free arable landscape with meadows alone in the deep valley. The valley trench flows on the northern edge of the village and joins the Kehrbach (right) to form the Scheckenbach, which is a right tributary of the Aisch . Immediately north of the village is the Illesheim airfield , which is used by the US Army. The district road NEA 39 leads to Illesheim on federal road 470 (1.7 km northwest) or to Westheim (1.8 km southeast).

history

The place was probably founded around 650 like the surrounding -heim- places. Urfersheim was first mentioned in a document in 779/803 when the Fulda monastery gave the place to Countess Reginswint. The place name contains the personal name Urbir , Auerbert or Urbert , which can be seen as the founder of the place. Around 1200 the place received the status of the imperial village , which it kept for 300 years. In 1300 King Albrecht I pledged Urfershofen to Albrecht II von Hohenlohe-Uffenheim. In 1386 Gerlach von Hohenlohe sold the pledged villages Urfersheim and Westheim to the imperial city of Rothenburg .

The monastery Heilsbronn acquired in 1312 Urfershofen of Gottfried von Hohenlohe two courtyards. In the period that followed, another farm was added.

On May 30, 1525, Urfersheim was attacked and set on fire by the soldiers of Margrave Casimir during the Peasants' War . Because the place supported the farmers, the status of the imperial village was revoked and incorporated into the margraviate of Brandenburg-Bayreuth .

At the end of the 18th century there were 25 properties in Urfersheim. The high court exercised the Brandenburg-Bayreuth Vogtamt Altheim . If necessary, it had to be delivered to the mayor's office in Markt Bergel . The village and township government had the box office Ipsheim and the imperial city Windheim held together. The landlords were the Principality of Bayreuth (23 properties; caste office Ipsheim: rectory, schoolhouse, shepherd's house, 3 courtyards, 12 estates, 1 estate; box office Windsheim : 1 courtyard, 1 half-yard, 2 estates) and the imperial town of Windsheim (2 estates).

In 1810 Urfersheim came to the new Kingdom of Bavaria . As part of the parish edict , it was assigned to the Westheim tax district in 1811 . In 1817 the rural community Westheim was formed, to which Urfersheim belonged. With the second community edict (1818) Urfersheim broke up and formed its own rural community. The administrative and jurisdiction of the rural community Urfersheim was subordinate to the District Court of Windsheim and the financial administration to the Ipsheim Rent Office . From 1862 Urfersheim was administered by the Uffenheim district office (renamed the Uffenheim district in 1938 ) and from 1856 by the Windsheim Rent Office ( renamed Windsheim tax office in 1920 ). The jurisdiction remained with the District Court of Windsheim until 1879, from 1880 District Court of Windsheim . The municipality had an area of 3.413 km².

On July 1, 1975, Urfersheim was incorporated into Illesheim as part of the regional reform in Bavaria .

  • House No. 26: Old school house. One-storey, plastered solid building, probably from the early 18th century. An elevated room with a hipped roof, west gable with a crooked hip. Important as a backdrop in front of the church for the townscape.

  • House number 32: small half-timbered house
