geography

The wasteland lies on the Erlenbach (called Linkenbach in the lower reaches), which is a right tributary of the Aisch . Approx. 0.75 km west of the village is the Riedbuck , approx. 1 km east is the Bannholz . A community road leads past the Wasenmühle to Ickelheim (1.1 km northeast) or to Sontheim to the NEA 39 district road (0.6 km south).

history

The mill was mentioned for the first time in a document from 1356, in which Hermann Bayern zu Sunthaim guaranteed the Heilsbronn monastery a partial yield from its mill every year. In 1416 the mill itself belonged to the monastery. In 1585 the mill was mentioned by name as "Beheleinsmühl".

As part of the community edict, Penleinsmühle was assigned to the Westheim tax district formed in 1811 . She also belonged to the rural community Westheim formed in 1817 . On July 1, 1975, the place was incorporated into Illesheim as part of the regional reform in Bavaria .
