history
The village was first mentioned by name in 760 in a deed of donation from nobleman Granwolf. In this he bequeathed the "villa Bouchheim" together with the other properties in Buchheim and Ergersheim to the Fulda monastery . According to the oldest forms of name, Buchheim is interpreted as the clearing village “Heim im Buchenwald”.
In 1349 the Heilsbronn monastery acquired a slope there from Konrad von Seckendorf . In 1404 the monastery bought two daily work meadows from Conz Walz. Sister Adelheid von Rothenburg and her father-in-law Dietrich gave the monastery a slope from a farm in Buchheim to the donation of an anniversary.
In 1460 Buchheim and its surroundings came under the rule of the Ansbach margraves and the Hohenzollern who introduced the Protestant faith here in the course of the Reformation in 1527 .
In 1801 Buchheim belonged to the Ansbach district of Uffenheim. Part of the tithe belonged to Count Castell zu Rüdenhausen .
In 1806 Buchheim came to the new Kingdom of Bavaria . As part of the municipal edict , the Buchheim tax district was formed in 1808 , to which Pfaffenhofen , Rannach , Simons and Ziegelmühle belonged. In 1813 the rural community Buchheim was formed, which was congruent with the tax district. With the second community edict (1818), two rural communities were formed:
- Rural community Buchheim with Rannachmühle;
- Rural community Pfaffenhofen with Simons and brick mills.
The administration and jurisdiction of the rural community of Buchheim was subordinate to the Uffenheim Regional Court and the Uffenheim Rent Office (from 1920 Uffenheim Tax Office ) in the financial administration . From 1862 Buchheim was administered by the Uffenheim District Office (from 1938 Uffenheim District ). The jurisdiction remained until 1879 the District Court Uffenheim, 1880 at the District Court Uffenheim . The municipality had an area of 6.028 km².
On July 1, 1972 Pfaffenhofen and Schwebheim were incorporated into Buchheim as part of the regional reform , which was finally incorporated into Burgbernheim on May 1, 1978.
