Wildbad is a district of the town of Burgbernheim in the Neustadt an der Aisch-Bad Windsheim district in Central Franconia .

geography

The desert is about 2.5 km southwest of Burgbernheim in the Frankenhöhe Nature Park. The place is surrounded by the Burgbernheim city forest. The Waldbach rises there, a right tributary of the Ens . A residential path leads to the district road AN 7 / NEA 52 (0.4 km east), which runs past the Erlach settlement to Hornau (2.3 km south-east) or to Burgbernheim (2.2 km north-east).

history

The springs (doctor, musketeer, eye, bath and cooking fountain) were probably already at the time of Emperor Lothar III. (1125–1135) and Charles IV. Known. The first house was built in Wildbad in 1487 and expanded a hundred years later. The buildings were badly damaged in the Thirty Years War .

After Margrave Georg Wilhelm rebuilt the Kurhaus across from the inn (1621) connected by a connecting corridor, the spa experienced its heyday.

At the end of the 18th century, Wildbad belongs to Burgbernheim. The property was owned by the Brandenburg-Bayreuth mayor's office in Burgbernheim as the landlord .

As part of the municipal edict, Wildbad was assigned to the Burgbernheim tax district formed in 1811 . It also belonged to the municipal community of Burgbernheim , which was formed in 1813 .

The Wildbad, which burned out during World War II , was operated as a Kneipp bath from 1950 to 1968 . It has been run as a hotel and forest inn since 1980. In its small size and the lack of extensions from the late 19th or 20th century, it represents a unique document in the history of culture and medicine.
