Altheim is a district of the Dietersheim community in the Neustadt an der Aisch-Bad Windsheim district in Middle Franconia .

geography

The parish village is located on the Aisch flood canal and the Aisch . Immediately north of the village rises the Kirchberg ( 324  m above sea level ), in the west lies the Gänsfeld and in the east Am Wasen. The district road NEA 26 runs to Unterstesselbach (3 km north) or to Dottenheim to federal road 470 (0.8 km south-east). A community road leads to Kaubenheim to the district road NEA 35 (3.2 km southwest).

history

On the western edge of the village there are remains of Merovingian row graves with the typical elliptical floor plan of the 6th and 7th centuries, which is why it can be assumed that settlement already took place in the 5th century at the time of King Clovis I and Altheim was one of the first settlements of the middle Aisch valley can be seen. A St. Martin's Church was probably consecrated there in 750 by the Würzburg bishop Burkard . A letter of protection from Emperor Friedrich I from 1158 shows that the Münchaurach monastery had been in Altheim's possession with the church and chapel since 1133. This is the oldest recorded mention of the place by name. The church in Altheim was renewed in 1463. Almost a century passed before the Protestant teaching and church leadership of the Reformation that began in Altheim in 1528 was secured. There has been a moated castle in the village since the 17th century, which originally belonged to the Lords of Hohenlohe and which later became the seat of the monastery of Munchaurach's bailiwick Altheim-Rüdisbronn (with its notorious administrator Siegmund Berchtold, who was town bailiff of Neustadt an der Aisch from 1598 to 1601 ). In 1621, during the Thirty Years War, mercenaries raided Altheim, among others, where they stole 40 guilders.

At the end of the 18th century there were 62 properties in Altheim. The high court exercised the Brandenburg-Bayreuth Vogtamt Altheim . If necessary, it had to be delivered to the Vogtamt Lenkersheim . The village and township government had the box office Windheim held. All properties were owned by the Principality of Bayreuth as the landlord (Vogtamt Altheim: rectory, schoolhouse, church, little castle, 1 mill, 1 farm with sheep, 2 taverns, 15 Huben , 22 Halbhuben, 13 Sölden , 1 Tropfhaus , 1 community smithy ; Box Office Ipsheim : 1st floor ) Good, 1 house).

In 1810 Altheim became part of the new Kingdom of Bavaria . As part of the municipal edict, the Altheim tax district was formed in 1811 , to which Dottenheim , Hausenhof , Oberdachsbach , Obernesselbach , Schormühle and Walddachsbach belonged. In 1817 the rural community Altheim was formed, which was congruent with the tax district. With the second community edict (1818), the rural community was split into

  • Rural community Altheim with Hausenhof and Schormühle,
  • Rural community Dottenheim,
  • Rural community Obernesselbach,
  • Rural community Walddachsbach with Oberdachsbach.

The administration and jurisdiction of the rural community Altheim was subordinate to the District Court of Windsheim and the financial administration to the Ipsheim Rent Office . From 1862 Altheim was administered by the Uffenheim district office (renamed the Uffenheim district in 1938 ) and from 1856 by the Windsheim Rent Office ( renamed Windsheim tax office in 1920 ). The jurisdiction remained with the District Court of Windsheim until 1879, from 1880 District Court of Windsheim . The municipality had an area of 7.923 km².

On July 1, 1972 Altheim was incorporated into Dietersheim as part of the regional reform .

In the competition Our village should become more beautiful in the district of Neustadt an der Aisch-Bad Windsheim, Altheim was awarded a silver medal in 1973.
