geography

The Roßbach flows through the village, which is a right tributary of the Schweinbachgraben, which in turn is a right tributary of the Aisch . In the south lies the forest area Hochstraße and in the north the Dürrnlohe . Approx. 0.5 km to the north-west is the Kohlplatte corridor and about 0.75 km to the north-east is the Roßbacher Feld . Unterroßbach is north of the district road NEA 6 , which leads to Oberroßbach (1 km northeast) or the Weiherhof past Birkenfeld to the federal road 470 (3 km north).

history

The place is first mentioned by name in the fief book of the Hochstift Würzburg (1308/1310). There it is recorded that knight Hermann Teuerlein bequeathed Unterroßbach to the Birkenfeld monastery . In the following years this was converted into a secular monastery office. When it was abolished in 1793, there were five subjects in Unterroßbach.

Towards the end of the 18th century there were six properties in Unterroßbach (4 quarter courtyards, 1 Gütlein, 1 house). The high court was exercised by the Brandenburg-Bayreuth city bailiff Neustadt an der Aisch . The Birkenfeld monastery office held the village and community rulership and the lordship over all properties .

As part of the community edict, Unterroßbach was assigned to the Oberroßbach tax district formed in 1811 . It also belonged to the rural community of Oberroßbach, founded in 1813 . On January 1, 1970, before the regional reform in Bavaria , Oberroßbach was incorporated into Dietersheim.
