history

The place was first mentioned by name in the tax book of the Nuremberg burgraves in 1361/1364. At that time the place belonged to the castle counts' office in Lenkersheim . Later it was subordinate to the Birkenfeld Monastery , which was subsequently converted into a secular monastery office.

Towards the end of the 18th century there were 14 properties in Oberroßbach. The high court was exercised by the Brandenburg-Bayreuth city bailiff Neustadt an der Aisch . The village and township government had the steward Birkenfeld held. The landlords were the Principality of Bayreuth (monastery office Birkenfeld: 1 estate, 2 estate, 1 Häckersgütlein, 4 half Häckersgütlein, 1 drip house ; Klosteramt Münchaurach : 1 estate) and the parish of Markt Erlbach (3 estates).

In 1810 Oberroßbach came to the new Kingdom of Bavaria . As part of the municipal edict, the Oberroßbach tax district was formed in 1811 , to which Beerbach , Oberschweinach , Pechhütte , Rimbach , Stöckach , Stöckachermühle , Unterroßbach and Unterschweinach belonged. In 1813 the rural community Oberroßbach was formed, which was congruent with the tax district. With the second community edict (1818), the rural community was split into

  • Beerbach rural community with Pechhütte;
  • Rural community Oberroßbach with Rimbach and Unterroßbach;
  • Rural community of Unterschweinach with Oberschweinach, Stöckach and Stöckacher Mühle.

The rural community Oberroßbach was subordinate to the regional court Neustadt an der Aisch in administration and jurisdiction and in the financial administration to the Rentamt Neustadt an der Aisch (renamed in 1920 to Finanzamt Neustadt an der Aisch ). From 1862 Oberroßbach was administered by the Neustadt an der Aisch district office ( renamed Neustadt an der Aisch district in 1938 ). The jurisdiction remained with the district court Neustadt an der Aisch until 1879, from 1880 with the district court Neustadt an der Aisch . The municipality had an area of 5,394 km².

On January 1, 1970, before the regional reform in Bavaria , the municipality of Oberroßbach was dissolved: Rimbach was incorporated into Linden , Ober- and Unterroßbach to Dietersheim.
