Max Dollner

Max Döllner (born March 31, 1874 in Burgebrach near Bamberg , † January 7, 1959 in Cologne ) was a German doctor and local researcher.

Life

During his youth, Max Döllner lived in Neustadt an der Aisch from 1877 to 1890 and then in Cologne . When it was bombed out during the Second World War , it moved again to Neustadt an der Aisch from 1944 to 1953. Using material collected from 1922 onwards, he wrote his development history of the city of Neustadt an der Aisch in Cologne from 1939 to June 1943 , which could not be published until March 1950 due to a lack of paper. According to his own statement, this work (in contrast to those of its previous chroniclers Matthias Salomon Schnizzer and Georg Ludwig Lehnes ) avoids euphemisms . In addition, he wrote various other local history publications (especially in the Neustadt Gazette ), which is why he was awarded the Neustadt honorary citizenship on March 31, 1954 . In his honor, a square (located on the former “Gänshügel”) was named Max-Döllner-Platz .

He was a general practitioner, a university professor, government department head and senior civil and Obermedizinalrat . One of his ancestors was Nikolaus Horn from Dettelbach, a personal physician to the Elector Albrecht Achilles .
