Steinach an der Ens is a district of the municipality of Gallmersgarten in the district of Neustadt an der Aisch-Bad Windsheim in Middle Franconia in Bavaria .

The parish village is on the Ens . Approx. The Hutbuck is located 0.5 km south of the village and the Vogelsang forest area approx. 0.5 km south-east. The B 470 leads to Steinach near Rothenburg ob der Tauber (0.8 km east) or to junction 107 of the A 7 (1 km west). The district road AN 30 / NEA 31 leads to Habelsee to the AN 32 (2.2 km northwest). A community road leads to Gallmersgarten (1.1 km to the northeast).

history

Steinach, also called Dorfsteinach, was founded around 870. The church of St. Maria has been in the village since the 14th century. Endsee , Gallmersgarten and Steinach / Bahnhof belong to the parish . In 1743 the parish had 432 members, in 1758 there were 500, and currently there are 700.

Under the leadership of the French general Ezéchiel de Mélac , French murderers set fire to 18 houses in November 1688 and caused damage amounting to at least 3,656 guilders.

In 1802 there were 30 households, all of which were subject to the imperial city of Rothenburg .

With the community edict (early 19th century), the tax district Steinach was formed, to which the places Endsee , Gypshütte , Habelsee , Landthurm , Reichelshofen , Seemühle and Steinachenmühle belonged. A little later, the rural community of Steinach was formed with Landthurm . In 1961 the municipality had an area of ​​4.946 km². On January 1, 1974, the place was incorporated into Gallmersgarten as part of the regional reform .
