history

In the year 911 was developed by Konrad I. King in the Diet of Forchheim decided Apply from the main area of the St. Gumbertuskloster Ansbach assign. These were settled in a ring around Ansbach in the 10th century. The first documented mention of this place dates from 1240 as "Windischen-Sneitbach", from which it can be seen that it is such a Wendensiedlung. Like Claffheim, Winterschneidbach originally belonged to the original parish of Saxony .

The monastery Heilsbronn acquired in 1556 there through exchange with Hans Arnold of Seckendorf four property. In the 16-point report of the Heilsbronnian Vogtamt Merkendorf from the year 1616 2 half farms and 1 estate were specified for “Windischen Schnaibach”, which were subordinate to the Merkendorf administration office. The properties of other landlords were not listed. In 1633/34 during the Thirty Years' War all four Heilsbronn landowners died. Two courtyards burned down and the other two courtyards were also deserted.

In the 16-point report of the Principality of Ansbach from 1684, twelve teams were listed for Winterschneidbach. Four properties were subordinate to the Hofkastenamt Ansbach , five properties to the Stiftsamt Ansbach , two properties of the imperial city Windsheim and one property to the Eichstättischen Kastenamt Herrieden . The high court and the village and community authority exercised the Brandenburg-Ansbachische Hofkastenamt Ansbach.

Towards the end of the 18th century there were 14 subject families in Winterschneidbach, 11 of which had Ansbach offices as landlords. From 1797 to 1808 the place was under the judiciary and chamber office of Ansbach . In the geographic, statistical-topographic lexicon of Franconia (1804), the place is described as follows: “ Windischschneidbach, according to Leonhardi Winterschneidbach, is a hamlet of 14 subjects in the Chamber of Commerce Ansbach, located 2 hours east of Herrieden beyond Burgoberbach, 3 goods there came from Mr. von Seckendorf in Eichstätt because of Bechhofen an Eichstätt and now belong to the Oberland Oberland Ober- and Stadtvogteyamte Wahrberg Herrieden. "

As part of the municipal edict, Winterschneidbach was assigned to the Großbreitenbronn tax district formed in 1808 . It also belonged to the rural community of Großbreitenbronn , which was founded a little later . With the second community edict (1818) Winterschneidbach was re-ceded to Burgoberbach . In 1821/22 the district court of Ansbach made efforts to incorporate Claffheim , Hohe Fichte , Seebronn and Winterschneidbach, which were subordinate to the Herriedener district court , but this failed due to the lack of interest from the affected areas. In 1846 at the latest, Winterschneidbach was reassigned to Claffheim.

When a railway line from Ansbach to Gunzenhausen was built in 1859 (the current Treuchtlingen – Würzburg line ), Winterschneidbach was given its own station, which developed into the most important cattle loading station in the Ansbach area. Winterschneidbach also got its own post office with zip code 8802. In the meantime, the train station and post office have been closed.

On July 1, 1972, Winterschneidbach was incorporated into the city of Ansbach as part of the regional reform .
