Kaltengreuth (colloquially: Kaldngraíd ) is a district of the independent city of Ansbach , Middle Franconia .

geography

The Peuntgraben flows through the village, a left tributary of the Eichenbach, which flows into the Franconian Rezat on the left . A community road leads to Eyb to ANs 3 (0.7 km to the west) or to Hirschbronn (1 km to the east). Another communal road runs to Untereichenbach (1 km north).

history

The village was first mentioned in 1316 as "I regretted the cold". Since cold is a synonym for bad , one can deduce from the place name that the soil was heavy and unproductive back then. According to the Salbuch der Deutschordenskommende Nürnberg from 1343, “7 fiefdoms and greut” belonged to the Eschenbach municipal bailiff .

Towards the end of the 18th century there were four properties and a community shepherd's house in Kaltengreuth. The high court exercised the Brandenburg-Ansbach Hofkastenamt Ansbach . The village and township government had the manor Neuendettelsau of Lords of Eyb held. The landlords were the manor Neuendettelsau (2 half yards) and the manor Frohnhof of the Lords of Eyb (2 half yards). There were three subject families. From 1797 to 1808 the place was under the judiciary and chamber office of Ansbach .

As part of the community edict, Kaltengreuth was assigned to the Eyb tax district formed in 1808 . It also belonged to the rural community of Eyb, founded in 1811 . In voluntary jurisdiction, two properties were subordinate to the Frohnhof Patrimonial Court from 1822 to 1836 .

Kaltengreuth was incorporated into the city of Ansbach on October 1, 1970, before the regional reform in Bavaria .
