Käferbach (colloquially: Underkef _ə ʳba ) is a district of the independent city of Ansbach ( Middle Franconia ).

geography

The village lies on the stream of the same name, a left tributary of the Altmühl . The Mittelbach flows there as the left tributary of the Käferbach. Approx. The Käferbuck is located 0.75 km north of the village , the Mühlbuck is located to the southeast, and the Im Forst forest area is 0.75 km . Communal roads lead to Steinbach (0.7 km south) and State Road 1066 (0.2 km north-west).

history

The place originally consisted of four settlements: Aub, Obermühle, Käferbach with the Käfermühle and Mittelmühle. In 1367 the places were first mentioned by name as "zer Awe" and "Keferndorf". The meaning of the first place name is Siedlung in der Aue , that of the second remains unclear, a connection with beetles is unlikely.

Before the Thirty Years War, there were 8 properties in Aub, some of which were owned by the Ansbach Abbey as landlord . In 1637 only one property was owned, the rest of them deserted.

At the end of the 18th century, Käferbach formed a community with Aub. In Käferbach there were 6 properties and a community pastor's house. The high court exercised the Brandenburg-Ansbach Hofkastenamt Ansbach . The Ansbach Abbey was in charge of the village and community . The landlords were the principality of Ansbach (Stiftsamt Ansbach: 2 half yards, 1 mill, 1 inn), the Ansbach council : 1 Söldengut ) and the Eichstättischen Stiftsoblei Herrieden (1 mill). There were 7 properties in Aub. The landlords were the Ansbach Abbey (4 Köbler estates, 1 empty house , 1 mill and the Neunstetten parish (1 Gütlein). From 1797 to 1808 the place was subordinate to the Ansbach Justice and Chamber Office .

As part of the municipal edict, the places were assigned to the Elpersdorf tax district formed in 1808 . They also belonged to the rural community of Elpersdorf, founded in 1811 . This was incorporated into the city of Ansbach on July 1, 1972 as part of the regional reform .

The dialectal differentiation between Oberkäferbach (for Aub and Obermühle) and Unterkäferbach (for Käferbach and Käfermühle) did not take place until the 20th century.

Käferbach has been Protestant since the Reformation was introduced in the Principality of Ansbach in 1528. However, since the landlords ( Kollegiatstift Herrieden ) were Catholic at that time, the residents petitioned the Margrave of Ansbach in 1599 to be allowed to remain Catholic, but this was rejected. The inhabitants of the Evangelical Lutheran denomination are today parish to St. Laurentius (Elpersdorf near Ansbach) . The inhabitants of the Roman Catholic denomination are parish to St. Ludwig (Ansbach) .
