history

The mill is mentioned by name for the first time in 1157, when Gebhard von Henneberg , Bishop of the Diocese of Würzburg , gave the mill and a villa to the Ansbacher Gumbertus pen (“molendium eidem ville contiguum”).

Towards the end of the 18th century, the willow mill consisted of an estate. The high court exercised the Brandenburg-Ansbach Hofkastenamt Ansbach . The property was owned by the Ansbach Abbey as the landlord. From 1797 to 1808 the place was under the judiciary and chamber office of Ansbach .

As part of the community edict, Weidenmühle was assigned to the Eyb tax district, which was formed in 1808 . It also belonged to the rural community of Eyb, founded in 1811.

In 1840 there was a brandy distillery in the willow mill. After 1875 the reunification to Ansbach took place . In the following years the willow mill was operated as an inn. In 1949 this is still attested. It is unclear when the willow mill was demolished.
