Liegenbach (colloquially: Lich _ə ba ) is a district of the independent city of Ansbach , Middle Franconia .

geography

The hamlet is located on the Höllmühlbach, a left tributary of the Altmühl . Approx. The Käferbuck is located 0.5 km south of the village . A community connecting road leads to Höfen (1 km east) or to Oberdombach (0.7 km west).

history

The place was first mentioned by name in 1452 as "Lügenbach". The place name is derived from an identical water body name (today called Höllmühlbach). The meaning of the name of the water body cannot be clarified with certainty. Elisabeth Fechter starts out from Bach at the poacher's hideout .

According to the 16-point report of the Principality of Ansbach from 1684, Oberdombach and Liegenbach formed a municipality. Even towards the end of the 18th century, Oberdombach and Liegenbach formed a community. There were 3 properties in Liegenbach. The high court exercised the Brandenburg-Ansbach Hofkastenamt Ansbach . The Ansbach court box office held village and community rulership. The landlords were the Aurach Vogtamt of the Eichstätt Monastery (2 Sölden estates ) and the Aurach parish (1 half courtyard). From 1797 to 1808 the place was under the judiciary and chamber office of Ansbach .

As part of the community edict, Liegenbach was assigned to the Elpersdorf tax district formed in 1808 . It also belonged to the rural community of Elpersdorf, founded in 1811 . This was incorporated into the city of Ansbach on July 1, 1972 as part of the regional reform .

The residents of the Evangelical Lutheran denomination are parish to St. Laurentius (Elpersdorf near Ansbach) , the residents of the Roman Catholic denomination to St. Vitus (Neunstetten) .
