Weinberg (colloquially: Waiberch ) is a district of the independent city of Ansbach , Middle Franconia .

geography

The desert vineyard forms a closed settlement with Ansbach. To the north of the village is the meadow tendrils and the Tiergarten forest area.

history

The place was mentioned by name for the first time in 1732 in the descriptions of the Oberamts by Johann Georg Vetter as a "vineyard". The historical roots, however, go back to the early 16th century, when a vineyard was created to provide an alternative to the Main and Tauber wines, which until then had to be shipped to Ansbach at great expense. However, because the wine was inedible, the vineyard was soon abandoned. In 1524 the vineyard and its wasteland went into private ownership.

At the end of the 18th century, Weinberg belonged to Hennenbach . There were two properties in Weinberg (a house, an economy). The high court exercised the Brandenburg-Ansbach Hofkastenamt Ansbach . Both properties had the Hofkastenamt Ansbach as landlord . There was a subject family at that time. From 1797 to 1808 the place was under the judiciary and chamber office of Ansbach .

As part of the community edict , Weinberg was assigned to the Hennenbach tax district formed in 1808 . It also belonged to the rural community of Hennenbach , which was founded in 1811 .

From 1853, the small Weinberg estate was used as a "rescue facility" for youth care. This came back a few years later, but had brought rich yields due to the good management, so that a few years later a new reformatory could be built in the Humboldtstrasse in Ansbach with the proceeds.

In the post-war period, a settlement was established near Weinberg, which was incorporated into Ansbach as early as 1963. On July 1, 1972, the wasteland was incorporated into the city of Ansbach as part of the regional reform .
