history

The place was first mentioned by name in 1254 as "Wahlhestorf". The defining word of the place name is the personal name Walh, which is derived from the popular name Walhos, the Germanic name for the Celts . In a figurative sense, it was also used to refer to people who looked foreign. A person of this name can be assumed to be the founder of the settlement.

Towards the end of the 18th century there were 14 properties and a community shepherd's house in Wallersdorf with the hammer forge and the silver mill. The high court exercised the Brandenburg-Ansbach Hofkastenamt Ansbach . The village and township government had the pen Office Ansbach held. Landlord were the Principality Ansbach (Hofkastenamt Ansbach: one pin Official Ansbach: 2 farms, 1 Halbhof, 2 freight, 2 mills, 1 Handrossgut with House, 1 Empty House , 1 Ziegelhuette ; Ansbacher Council : 1 Good), the Stadtvogtei Official Eschenbach the German Order (1 mill) and the Nuremberg owner von Haller (1 yard). There were 12 subject families at that time, 11 of which were Ansbachian. From 1797 to 1808 the place was under the judiciary and chamber office of Ansbach .

As part of the community edict, Wallersdorf was assigned to the Brodswinden tax district, formed in 1808 . It also belonged to the rural community of Brodswinden, founded in 1811 . This was incorporated into the city of Ansbach on July 1, 1972 as part of the regional reform .
