history

In the year 911 decided King Conrad I. on the Diet of Forchheim , turning from the main area of the St. Gumbertuskloster Ansbach assign. These were settled in a ring around Ansbach in the 10th century. In 1288, the place was first mentioned in the will of Wolfram von Dornberg as "Tutenzüge". The basic word of the place name "–winds" shows that it is a Wendensiedlung. The defining word is the personal name "Tudo". A person of this name can be assumed to be the founder of the settlement.

In the 16-point report of the Oberamt Ansbach from 1684 10 teams are listed for Dautenwinds: 6 properties were subordinate to the Hofkastenamt Ansbach and 4 properties to the Eichstättischen Kastenamt Herrieden . The high court and the village and community authority exercised the Brandenburg-Ansbachische Hofkastenamt Ansbach.

Towards the end of the 18th century, Oberdauten winds formed a community with Unterdauten winds. In Oberdautenwind there were 6 properties (1 brewery with an inn, 4 Köblergüter , 1 Schmiedgut). The court box office in Ansbach continued to exercise the high court and the village and community rule. All properties had Hofkastenamt Ansbach as landlord . In addition to these properties there were also communal buildings (shepherd's house, breaker's house ). In Unterdautenwind there were 4 properties with 6 subject families (2 courtyards, 1 estate, 1 Mühlgut). All properties had the caste office Herrieden as landlord. From 1797 to 1808 the places were subordinate to the justice and chamber office of Ansbach .

As part of the municipal edict, Ober- and Unterdautenwinds were assigned to the Elpersdorf tax district formed in 1808 . They also belonged to the rural community of Elpersdorf, founded in 1811 . This was incorporated into the city of Ansbach on July 1, 1972 as part of the regional reform .

religion

Since the introduction of the Reformation in the Principality of Ansbach in 1528, Oberdauten winds has been Protestant and is parish to St. Nikolaus (Schalkhausen) , while Unterdauten winds remained Catholic. A tussle fight between Protestants and Catholics in 1598 was the reason that the St. Laurentius branch church (Elpersdorf near Ansbach) got its own pastor. The inhabitants of the Roman Catholic denomination are today parish to St. Ludwig (Ansbach) .
