history

The place was first mentioned in 1294 as "Cammerforst". The name means to the forest belonging to the chamber (of the Gumbertuss pin ) . Like Wengenstadt , Kammerforst is probably a clearing site that arose in the 10th century.

In the 16-point report of the Oberamt Ansbach from 1684, seven teams are listed for Kammerforst. Four properties were subordinate to the Hofkastenamt Ansbach , one property to the mayor and council of Ansbach and two properties of the Ayrer family. The high court and the village and community rulership exercised the Brandenburg-Ansbachische Hofkastenamt Ansbach from 1689 Johann Bernhard Ayrer sold his property to the margraves.

Even towards the end of the 18th century there were seven properties in Kammerforst. The court box office in Ansbach continued to exercise the high court and the village and community rule. The principality of Ansbach was the landlord (Hofkastenamt Ansbach: 1 courtyard, 5 estates; Ansbach council: 1 half courtyard). In addition to the property, there were also communal buildings (forge, shepherd's house, breaker's house ) and a margravial summer residence. From 1797 to 1808 the place was under the judiciary and chamber office of Ansbach .

As part of the municipal edict, Kammerforst was assigned to the Hennenbach tax district formed in 1808 . It also belonged to the rural community of Hennenbach , which was founded in 1811 .

In the topo-geographical-statistical lexicon of the Kingdom of Bavaria (1831) the place is described as follows:

“Hamlet in the L [an] dg [ericht] Ansbach and in the Pf [a] r [rei] St. Johannis there, from which it is 12 hours away. It comprises 10 houses, 60 residents, the Weißmühle (inn) and the windmill , the place of entertainment for the Ansbach people. The place appears in 1293 as a chamber property. Some of the estates there were originally castle-counts' fiefs, the Hartung family responsible, which returned the dominium utile of the same in 1571. "

On July 1, 1972, Kammerforst was incorporated into the city of Ansbach as part of the regional reform .
