history
In the year 911 decided King Conrad I. on the Diet of Forchheim , turning from the main area of the St. Gumbertuskloster Ansbach assign. These were settled in a ring around Ansbach in the 10th century. In 1288 the place was first mentioned in a document as "Bernoltswinden" in Wolfram von Dornberg's will . The basic word of the place name “–winds” shows that this place is such a Wendensiedlung. The defining word is the personal name Bernolt, whose bearer can be seen as the founder of the settlement.
In the 16-point report of the Oberamt Ansbach from 1684, 24 teams were recorded for Bernhardswinden: eight properties were subordinate to the Hofkastenamt Ansbach , four properties to the Abbey Office Ansbach , one property to the mayor and council of Ansbach , one property to the Eichstättischen Kastenamt Herrieden , one property Lords from Eyb zu Vestenberg , four properties from Lords von Eyb zu Neuendettelsau and five properties from Ansbach owner von Mohr. The high court and the village and community authority exercised the Brandenburg-Ansbachische Hofkastenamt Ansbach.
Gottfried Stieber described the place in his 1761 work "Historical and topographical news from the Principality of Brandenburg-Onolzbach" as follows:
"Bernhardswinden. A little Weyler, remotely located in the district of the Upper Onolzbach, an hour from the high ducal residence around noon, which in documents in the middle ages is also called Bernolzwind, Bernotswinden, whose inhabitants Onolzbach inparochiret intended to the parish church, but in politicis partly the Subordinate to the monastery office, partly to the court caste office, but some belong to other rulers within Etter with the rule of law. The von Holzingen family, namely in 1381 Nicolaus von Holzingen zu Wiesenbruck, the von Seldeneck family and a few other families owned goods there, which subsequently came to the Gumprechts-Stifft zu Onolzbach through purchase, exchange, donation, etc. "
At the end of the 18th century there were 24 properties in Bernhardswinden. The court box office in Ansbach continued to exercise the high court and the village and community rule. The landlords were the Principality of Ansbach (13 properties; Hofkastenamt Ansbach: 1 courtyard, 1 half-yard, 2 Söldengüter , 1 Gütlein, 2 empty houses , 1 smithy, 1 economic property; Stiftsamt Ansbach: 3 half-yards; Ansbach Council: 1 estate), the manor Neuendettelsau der Lords of Eyb (1 yard, 1 half-yard, 2 estates), the manor Frohnhof also belonging to the Lords of Eyb (1 yard), Ansbach owners (von Mohr: 3 estates, 1 semi-estate; von Appold: 1 yard) and the Herrieden chapter ( 1 good). In addition to these properties, there were also communal buildings (schoolhouse, shepherd's house, crushing house ). From 1797 to 1808 the place was under the judiciary and chamber office of Ansbach .
In 1806 Bernhardswinden came to the Kingdom of Bavaria . As part of the municipal edict , Bernhardswinden was assigned to the Brodswinden tax district, which was formed in 1808 . It also belonged to the rural community of Brodswinden, founded in 1811 . In 1833 Bernhardswinden, Meinhardswinden , Dombach and Kurzendorf submitted an application to form a community. This was rejected. In 1836 Bernhardswinden, Meinhardswinden and Kurzendorf again submitted an application to form a community. This was approved in 1839 with the condition that the costs of 600 guilders for the cadastral changes were borne, which the towns were not able to do. Further applications followed in 1842 and 1854, which were also unsuccessful.
On September 20, 1860, the formation of the rural community Bernhardswinden was granted, to the Deßmannsdorf , Louismühle and Meinhardswinden counted. However, the affiliation of Kurzendorf was rejected. On October 19, 1873, after further applications, the reorganization of Kurzendorf was approved, which was carried out in 1875.
The municipality Bernhard winds was under the administration and jurisdiction of District Court Ansbach and in the financial management of the revenue office Ansbach (1920 in Finanzamt Ansbach renamed). From 1862 onwards, it was administered by the Ansbach district office (renamed the Ansbach district in 1938 ). The jurisdiction remained with the district court of Ansbach until 1870, 1870-1879 city and district court Ansbach , since 1880 district court Ansbach . The municipality had an area of 8,459 km².
The Meinhardswinden settlement was incorporated into Ansbach in October 1950. On July 1, 1972, Bernhardswinden and the associated districts were incorporated into Ansbach as part of the regional reform .
