history

Elpersdorf was probably founded in the 9th century and was initially subordinate to the St. Gumbertus monastery in Ansbach . In 1288 the place was first mentioned in a document as "Eltwinsdorf" in the will of Wolfram von Dornberg . The foundation goes back to a settler named Eltwin. In 1331 it came to the Burgrave Friedrich IV of Nuremberg and remained in the possession of the Burgraviate of Nuremberg for the next few centuries . First, the Lords of Bruckberg were enfeoffed, then the Lords of Vestenberg .

In 1426 a church was built in the village, which was a branch church of St. Nikolaus (Schalkhausen) until 1598 . It was an independent parish until 1633, after which it was again a branch of Schalkhausen, from 1671 a branch of St. Georg (Neunkirchen near Leutershausen) . Since 1700 it has been an independent parish again.

In the 16-point report of the Oberamt Ansbach from 1684 twelve teams were listed for Elpersdorf: All properties (three courtyards, eight estates, one house) had the Hofkastenamt Ansbach as landlord . There was also the communal shepherd's house. The high court and the village and community authority exercised the Brandenburg-Ansbachische Hofkastenamt Ansbach.

Towards the end of the 18th century there were twelve properties in Elpersdorf (3 courtyards, 8 Köbler estates , 1 inn). The court office of Ansbach continued to exercise the high court, the village and community rulership and the lordship over all properties. In addition to the property, there were also church buildings (church, parish) and communal buildings (school, shepherd's house). From 1797 to 1808 the place was under the judiciary and chamber office of Ansbach .

In 1806 Elpersdorf came to the Kingdom of Bavaria . As part of the municipal edict , the Elpersdorf tax district was formed in 1808 , to which Aub , Dombach im Loch , Höfen , Höllmühle , Käferbach , Kurzendorf , Liegenbach , Mittelbach , Oberdauten winds , Oberdombach , Unterdauten winds , Windmühle and Wüstenbruck belonged. The rural community of Elpersdorf was founded in 1811 and was congruent with the tax district. It was subordinate to the Ansbach Regional Court in administration and jurisdiction and to the Ansbach Rent Office ( renamed Ansbach Tax Office in 1920 ).

In 1833, Dombach in Loch and Kurzendorf submitted an application to form a community with Bernhardswinden and Meinhardswinden from the community of Brodswinden . This was rejected. A number of other applications followed, until on October 19, 1873, a change from Kurzendorf to Bernhardswinden was granted. From 1862 on, Elpersdorf was administered by the Ansbach district office (renamed the Ansbach district in 1938 ). The jurisdiction remained with the district court of Ansbach until 1870, 1870-1879 city and district court Ansbach , since 1880 district court Ansbach . The municipality had an area of 13,578 km².

In the course of the regional reform (July 1, 1972), Elpersdorf and its associated districts were incorporated into Ansbach.
