history

The place was first mentioned by name in 1320 as "Tanbach". The place name is derived from a water body of the same name, the defining word of which is the tree species fir . The shape of Dombach im Loch has only been documented since 1732, with the term “hole” denoting the hidden valley location of the place.

In the 16-point report of the Ansbach Regional Office in 1684, five teams were listed for Dombach. All properties were subordinate to the Ansbach Abbey . The high court exercised the Brandenburg-Ansbach court box office in Ansbach, the village and community rule was held by the Ansbach monastery office.

Towards the end of the 18th century there were also five properties in Dombach in Loch (2 courtyards, 1 half courtyard, 1 Köblergut , 1 drip house ). The high court exercised the court box office in Ansbach. The Ansbach Abbey was in charge of the village and community. All properties were owned by the Ansbach Abbey as the landlord . In addition to these properties there were also communal buildings (shepherd's house, breaker's house ). From 1797 to 1808 the place was under the judiciary and chamber office of Ansbach .

As part of the municipal edict, Dombach im Loch was assigned to the Elpersdorf tax district formed in 1808 . It also belonged to the rural community of Elpersdorf, founded in 1811 . In 1833 Bernhardswinden , Dombach, Kurzendorf and Meinhardswinden submitted an application to form a community. However, this was rejected. On July 1, 1972, the municipality of Elpersdorf and its associated districts were incorporated into the city of Ansbach as part of the regional reform .
